Questions about this business plan

More templates for plumbing shops are on the free templates page.

Is one page enough?

To start, yes. The SBA calls it a lean startup plan: it can take as little as an hour and is typically one page, and it suits a business that’s simple or that will change its plan as it goes. A bank or an investor usually asks for a longer, traditional plan, and these seven boxes are a start on it.

How do I work out break-even?

Add up a month’s costs, your own pay included. Work out what you keep from an average job after parts. Divide the first by the second: that’s how many you need a month before the business makes money.

What does a bank want in a business plan?

The SBA says lenders and investors commonly ask for a traditional plan: longer and more detailed, with your market, your team, your finances and the money you’re asking for. Ask your bank what it needs before you write one.

Can I print a blank one?

Yes. Blank copy to print downloads the seven boxes with their questions and room to write, to fill in by hand.

Is this business plan template free?

Yes. There’s no account, no trial and no email address to give. Fill it in and download the PDF as often as you like.

Where does what I type go?

Nowhere. It stays in this browser on this device, so it’s there next time you open the page. Wakeman never sees it, and Clear everything removes it.
