Texts from Wakeman while you set up
Last updated
What this page is
Wakeman texts people who are setting up a Wakeman account, when they ask for it on a call with our AI assistant. This page sets out who sends those texts, what they say, how you agree to them and how to stop them.
It is a separate program from the texts a contractor's Wakeman number sends to the homeowners who call that contractor. On those, the contractor is the sender and Wakeman never is; they are described at wakeman.ai/legal/sms-consent. On these, Wakeman is the sender.
Who sends them
Fabricate, LLC, which operates Wakeman, from its own sales numbers: (775) 618-4384 and (775) 278-6674. Every text starts with “Wakeman:”. No contractor's number is ever used to send them.
What we text
Only what you asked for while talking to our assistant on the phone:
- The link to set up your account. One text with a link to our sign-up page, which may open with your business already filled in.
- Help while you set up, when enabled. Your call-forwarding code, whether our forwarding test call reached Wakeman, and how to fix it if it did not.
The setup messages are not sent yet. When they are switched on, each will be asked for on the call before it is sent, and its wording will be on this page first.
No marketing. No offers, no reminders to sign up, nothing you did not ask for on the call, and your number is not added to any list. Our website chat and our Talk to Wakeman page do not send texts.
How you agree
On the call, the assistant asks this question, in these words, and waits for your answer:
Agent: “Can I text you the link to start your free trial from Wakeman? It's one text. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time.”
Only a clear yes to that question counts. Silence, an answer the assistant could not make out, a change of subject, or a question back, such as “a link to what?”, counts as a no, and nothing is sent without a yes. If you say no, the assistant gives you the web address instead.
The text goes only to the phone number on that call: the one you called us from, or the one you asked us to call you on. At most one sign-up text is sent per call.
There is no web form or keyword for this program: the spoken yes is the only way to join it. If we add a checkbox to our website for it, its exact words will be on this page before any text is sent because of it.
As you hear it
When you say yes:
Agent: “Can I text you the link to start your free trial from Wakeman? It's one text. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time.”
Caller: “Yes, please.”
Agent: “Done — it's on its way.”
When you say no:
Agent: “Can I text you the link to start your free trial from Wakeman? It's one text. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time.”
Caller: “No thanks.”
Agent: “No problem — it's wakeman dot A I, then Start free, no card.”
Saying no costs you nothing. The assistant keeps helping you on the call, and the sign-up page is the same either way.
What is written down
Phone calls with our assistant are recorded, and the assistant says so at the start of the call (wakeman.ai/legal/recording). When you say yes, we save it with the text it allows: the question you were asked, your answer in your own words as the assistant heard them, the number, the time, and the call it was given on. A no is not saved separately; it is in the recording and transcript of the call.
The texts, word for word
The sign-up link, as it arrives on your phone:
“Wakeman: here's the link to start your free trial - no card needed: https://wakeman.ai/sign-up Reply STOP to opt out.”
If the assistant started setting up your business with you on the call, the address in that text may instead be a link of your own to wakeman.ai/start, which opens your setup with your business already filled in. Every other word is the same, and it is still one text.
When the setup messages are enabled, they will read like these. The parts in square brackets change for each setup:
“Wakeman: to forward your calls to Wakeman, dial [forwarding code] from your business phone, then hang up. Reply STOP to opt out.”
“Wakeman: our test call to [business number] reached Wakeman, so your forwarding works. Reply STOP to opt out.”
“Wakeman: our test call to [business number] did not reach Wakeman, so forwarding is not on yet. Dial [forwarding code] from that phone and try again, or call us at [sales number]. Reply STOP to opt out.”
How often
One text for the sign-up link. When the setup messages are enabled, a few more while you set up. There is no schedule and no recurring send.
STOP, HELP and rates
Reply STOP to any of these texts to stop them. STOP is handled by the messaging platform that carries them: it confirms with one reply, and no more texts are sent to your phone from these numbers. Reply START to undo it.
Reply HELP for help, or write to info@wakeman.ai, where a person answers. Other replies to these numbers are not read; for anything else, write to info@wakeman.ai.
STOP here does not change any other texts. A contractor's alerts, and the texts a contractor's Wakeman number sends its callers, are a separate program with its own STOP.
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number
We use your number to send the texts you asked for and to follow up on what you asked about on the call. No mobile information is sold or rented. Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Outside Wakeman, your number and the texts go only to the companies that deliver them.
