How it works

Ready in about ten minutes

See one call, start to finish
  1. 1. Type your number or website

We find your business on Google and read your site.

  2. 2. Hear it answer as you

Change anything it says, then keep it.

  3. 3. Forward your missed calls

One short code on your phone. Undo it any time.

Every morning

Wake up to jobs, not voicemails

One screen shows who called overnight, what’s booked, and who is waiting on you. Booked jobs go into Jobber, or come to you by text.

Booked jobs

Into Jobber, or to your phone by text, with the address checked.

People to call back

One tap to call. A plain note of what they need, so you don’t have to listen first.

Emergencies

For gas, fire, live wires and flooding, Wakeman tries your on-call tech during the call. You see them at the top, in red.

Text message · Tue 11:42 PM
New job: water heater leakMaria · (503) 555-0187
1425 SW Barbur Blvd, apt 3B
Water on the garage floor, away from power. Wants someone tomorrow morning.
Not urgent

Gas, fire or a live wire?

It tells the caller to get out and call 911, then rings whoever is on call — right away, any hour.

A safety net, not an emergency service.

What it’s told to say

“Stop. If you smell gas, leave the building right now. Don’t use any light switches or appliances inside. Call 911 and your gas utility from outside.”

Then it rings whoever is on call

Straight answers

What it does, and what it won’t

It will

Answers in your business’s name, when your plan says it should
Spots gas, fire, live wires and flooding, and rings and texts your on-call phone while the caller is still on the line
Takes the address and checks it
Texts you the job, or books it into Jobber once you switch booking on
Never bills you for spam or robocalls

It won’t

Pretend to be a person. Every call opens with a short AI and recording notice
Keep a caller from you. If they keep asking for a person, it puts them through to your on-call phone
Book anything until you switch booking on
Stand in for 911. It’s a safety net, not an emergency service
Get everything right. It can mishear. Review any call summary and recording available with the caller’s consent

Questions owners ask

What is an AI receptionist?

An AI receptionist answers a business’s phone with a voice model that listens, asks questions and writes down what the caller needs. Wakeman is one built for plumbing, HVAC and electrical shops: it answers in your business’s name, says it’s an AI, tells an emergency from a routine job, checks the address and texts you the job.

How much does Wakeman cost?

$49 a month for Starter, $149 a month for Pro and $399 a month for Max, with 100, 500 or 1,500 minutes included, then 45¢, 35¢ or 29¢ a minute. Every plan answers day and night, and paying yearly gets two months free. Spam calls are never billed, you set a monthly spend limit, and every plan is free for 14 days with no card.

Is it a 24/7 answering service?

On every plan it answers the calls your team misses at any hour, day or night, unless you switch on “Answer only while we’re closed”. Like any phone service it can have an outage, so it doesn’t promise that every call is answered.

Does it work with Jobber?

Yes, on Pro and Max. Once you switch booking on, booked jobs go into Jobber with the customer and the checked address. The times it offers are the ones you set in Wakeman, not your whole Jobber calendar. Housecall Pro is not generally available yet, and ServiceTitan is not supported.

Will callers know it’s an AI?

Yes. Every call opens with a short notice that the caller is talking to an AI and that the call is recorded. A caller who keeps asking for a person is put through to your on-call phone.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep the number your customers already call. Calls you don’t pick up are forwarded to Wakeman, and one code on your phone switches that off again.

What if it can’t help the caller?

It takes a clear message — who, where, what’s wrong — and it shows up on your Today screen with a button to call them back. Anything dangerous rings whoever is on call.

What happens after the free trial?

Pick a plan and it keeps answering. If you don’t, it stops, and new calls ring your on-call phone instead. If the first month isn’t worth it, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full.

Can I hear it before I sign up?

Yes. Play the example call at the top of this page. During setup you also call your own Wakeman number and hear it answer as your business before any customer does.

Who do I talk to if something goes wrong?

Our team: call or text (775) 510-2241, or email info@wakeman.ai.
