Forward missed calls on an Xfinity or Comcast phone
Comcast has three kinds of phone, and each one forwards a different way. Pick yours.

Which Xfinity phone is it?
- Comcast Business lineA desk phone on a Comcast Business account
- Xfinity home phoneXfinity Voice, plugged into the Xfinity box
- Xfinity Mobile cell phoneA cell phone on Xfinity Mobile
A desk phone that plugs into the Xfinity box is a home or business phone, even if it looks like a landline.
Comcast Business line
A desk phone on a Comcast Business account
Dial *92 on the business phone
On the desk phone your customers call, dialed like a number.
When it asks for a number, enter your answering number
All 10 digits.
Wait for it to confirm, then hang up
That means it’s on.
To switch it off later, dial *93.
*93If *92 does nothing on your line, call Comcast Business and ask them to forward the calls you don’t answer to your answering number.
Xfinity home phone
Xfinity Voice, plugged into the Xfinity box
Xfinity’s home phone guide has a code that sends every call (*72), but none for only the calls you don’t answer. Ask Xfinity to switch it on instead.
Call Xfinity on the number on your bill
Ask them to forward the calls you don’t answer to your answering number. They may call it “call forward no answer”.
Ask them to let your phone ring about 4 times first
And to leave “forward all calls” off, so you still pick up first.
To switch it off later, call Xfinity again and ask them to turn call forward no answer off.
Xfinity Mobile cell phone
A cell phone on Xfinity Mobile
Dial *71, then the answering number
All 10 digits, straight after the code, with no 1 in front. Then press Call.
Example, if the answering number is (503) 555-0142*71 503 555 0142Wait for the confirmation tone, then end the call
That means it’s on.
To switch it off later, dial *73 and press Call.
*73- Dial it on the Xfinity Mobile phone itself: Xfinity says forwarding can only be turned on from the phone.
- While it’s on, calls you don’t answer go to your answering service, not your Xfinity Mobile voicemail.
- Xfinity says it’s included with Xfinity Mobile plans at no extra cost, and it only forwards to US numbers.
Test it
Call your business number from a different phone
Not the answering number. That only tests the answering service.
Let it ring. Don’t press decline.
Declining can count as busy, which is a different setting.
Check who answered
Your answering service should pick up. If your voicemail answers, forwarding isn’t on yet.
