Forward missed calls in RingCentral
No codes to dial. You change one setting in the RingCentral app, and your phones still ring first.

Before you start, have these
- A sign-in to RingCentral that can change settings. Some settings are only open to the account’s admin.
- Your answering service’s number: the number calls go to. With Wakeman, it’s on your Forwarding page.
Turn it on
In the RingCentral app, open Settings → Phone → Call handling, and choose Edit.
Under Missed calls, choose “Forward to external number” and enter your answering number.
Save it. Work hours and after hours are set separately, so set both.
Test it
Call your business number from a different phone
Not the answering number. That only tests the answering service.
Let it ring. Don’t press decline.
Declining can count as busy, which is a different setting.
Check who answered
Your answering service should pick up. If your voicemail answers, forwarding isn’t on yet.
Test once in work hours and once after hours: each has its own setting.
Turn it off
Open the same Missed calls setting, choose voicemail again, and save. Do it for work hours and after hours.
If it didn’t work
- Ask whoever runs your RingCentral account. Some settings are only open to them.
- Your business number may ring a group of phones. The group has its own setting.
- Still stuck? Our team can check it with you.
